The Conservation Council's Learning Outside project encourages teachers to teach existing curriculum outside. We are available to lead outdoor educational activities linked to curriculum. We base our activities on the needs of teachers and their students and highlight the natural features on and near their school grounds, as well as seasonal happenings in nature. We lead games and activities on themes including habitats, food chains and food webs, NB trees and plants, adaptations to winter (animals and plants), pollinators, birds, frogs, ecosystems, wetlands, Atlantic salmon, and more.
EOS can offer presentations, workshops, webinars and hands-on experiences related to climate change. We can tailor things to meet your needs and have a variety of educational resources related to climate change adaptation, energy efficiency and renewable energy. Examples shown in the images are workshops on understanding watersheds, flooding and pollution with our watershed table, hands on water quality testing with our youth Water Rangers Kits, and making and racing solar cars.

We offer a variety of fun and interactive bilingual programs that are current and curriculum-connected and can be adapted to fit most grade levels! This program is designed to get youth excited about biodiversity conservation, through a multi-faceted educational approach highlighting the importance of healthy, functioning ecosystems!
Students will get to use a Water Rangers kit to take water quality samples from the Hammond River- they will learn the concepts of testing water’s pH, conductivity, salinity, temperature, and alkalinity. They will be Citizen Scientists for the day!
