ACAP Saint John invites you to join us for a field trip to one of our outdoor locations, where you can explore the natural environment and learn about its importance and challenges. We have several sites to choose from, such as the Irving Nature Park, the Marsh Creek Wetland, the Reversing Falls, and the Saint John Harbour. At each site, we will guide you through various activities, such as hiking, fishing, birdwatching, water quality testing, and more. You will need to arrange your own transportation and bring appropriate clothing and equipment for the weather and terrain.
We would love to engage your class in environmental education whether it's a classroom session or outdoor field trip! We have previously hosted angling activities, bioblitz adventures, and benthics (riverbed bugs) demonstrations. We can also organize a visit to one of our rain gardens or restoration sites, or involve the kids in volunteer work such as bird box building, tree planting or willow cutting. The programs we can offer are dependent on available funding, but feel free to reach out and we can determine the activity that's right for you.

The Mobile Laboratory is an extension of the Homarus Eco-Centre, which allows us to visit you directly in the classroom. The presentations are realized with the help of living marine organisms to offer educational and interactive activities that fall into the school science curriculum. One hour sessions will inspire science awakening and education through observation, manipulation and interaction with an expert in the field.
