Purpose: The UNESCO-designated Fundy Biosphere Region is dedicated to conserving biodiversity and promoting sustainable development.
Activities: -Forest of the Future: local adaptation to Climate Change, based on planting a mix of native tree species that will be resilient to climate change and foster better forest management practices -Conservation: participation in Ecological Corridor, Atlantic Priority Places, and Inner Bay of Fundy projects/working groups, among others; collaboration on sustainable trail building and OECM designations, monitoring of carbon sequestration, WESP assessments, and other data collection -Promotion of education, conservation, reconciliation, and sustainable tourism through the region’s Amazing Places, membership in the Rural Upper Fundy partnership, and through development of a Atlantic Canada UNESCO tourism corridor
