Purpose: To improve respiratory health. To improve both indoor and outdoor air quality and reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. To advocate for and undertake public education to reduce exposure to health hazards in the environment.
Activities: Environmental health research, advocacy and activities related to indoor and outdoor air quality, and climate change. Programs include the Canadian Network for Human Health and the Environment, programs to reduce vehicle emissions (Drive Electric), programs to reduce toxic exposures at home (Healthy Homes), programs to educate health professionals on the links between climate change and health (Health Professionals for Action on Climate Change), clean indoor and outdoor air initiatives. Our subsidiary, the Foundation for Resilient Health works nationally, improving health resilience by undertaking public education and advocacy to reduce exposure to health hazards in the environment, reduce GHGs, increase biodiversity and reduce social inequities.
