Purpose: The aim of the Ecoparc/Community Centre is to provide a recreation facility that will demonstrate environmental sustainability. The riverside trails through a 9-acre woodlot aim to provide an appreciation of wildlife, flora, trees, and the river ecosystem. The resotration of an environmentally-sound river and improving Acadian forest will promote a healthy environment and allow residents to learn the benefits of environmental stewardship. The close to net zero energy community centre will provide energy conservation.
Activities: -Complete the entrance of the Ecoparc trails. We plan on installing a sign and a gravel trail up to the entrance of Ecoparc's main trail.
-Complete landscaping on the South side of the Community Centre with the help of a permaculture specialist.
-Workshop for youth on garden landscaping in collaboration with Vision H20 and Nature NB.
