NBEN member groups are environmental non-profits that have as one of their prime objectives the enhancing or furthering of environmental quality, protecting the environment, or carrying out environmental education, and who agree with the mission and the goals of the NBEN. Associate members may also include any environmental committee of another organization. They will be featured at the top of all search results and their listings will have icons showing their active membership status. Look for the logo for local knowledge and resources!

Participants will learn the importance of incorporating the SDGs across the curriculum and the crucial role that education plays. Educators will learn about the SDGs, how they are interconnected and ways of incorporating the SDGs in schools as well as how they can support schools that would like to include the SDGs in their school programming. They will see examples of how schools are currently incorporating the SDGs and be inspired by the many action projects happening across the country.

We offer guided educational programs for all levels. The subject matter varies according to the age of the school group. Guided walks last about an hour, and we can offer two per group. This educational service is offered free of charge in May, June and September.
Écocentre Homarus Ecocentre
Le Laboratoire Mobile est une extension de l'Écocentre Homarus qui nous permet de vous rendre visite directement en salle de classe. Les présentations sont accompagnées d'organismes vivants du milieu marin côtier afin d'animer des activités éducatives et interactives qui s'intègrent dans les programmes d'études de sciences. Des sessions d'environ une heure encourageront l'initiation et l'enseignement des sciences par le biais d'observations, de manipulations et d'échanges avec un expert dans le domaine.

EcoSchools Canada
Le programme ÉcoÉcoles est à la fois un cadre et une mine de ressources pour l’action et l’engagement en éducation à l’environnement. Le programme offre aux élèves des occasions d’affirmer leur leadership, des liens avec des camarades d’autres niveaux par le mentorat entre pairs, ainsi qu’un moyen amusant d’apprendre les principes de la durabilité. Pour les membres de l’enseignement, le programme ÉcoÉcoles s’intègre en toute transparence avec les programmes d’études de partout au Canada et offre des occasions d’apprentissage uniques.

GeoLearns
This is a teacher's workshop to learn how to teach the basics about rock identification. Provided with the workshop are classroom-ready teaching resources including, a comprehensive Pebble Guide (based on the Science 4 Properties and Uses of Earth Materials curriculum); a field journal; and a pencil case filled with a magnifier, ruler, pencil, eraser and sharpener. The teachers will be guided through a rock identification exercise using pebbles that are representative of some of the common rock names of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rock types.

NB Physical Literacy
Le présent atelier vise à aider le personnel de centres de la petite enfance (éducatrices, superviseures, directrices) et les parents à mieux comprendre le développement de la littératie physique chez les jeunes enfants (0 à 5 ans).
A full beaver pond tour is comprised of a nature walk, interactive game about wetlands, and a critter dipping session (where students receive first-hand experience learning about many of the critters we have in the pond, by safely fishing for them with nets). Classes are welcome to each lunch as the pond as picnic tables are provided.

Une visite complète à étang de castors constitue une promenade dans la nature, un jeu interactif et une session de trempage de bestioles où les élèves apprennent de première main beaucoup des créatures qui vivent dans l'étang, en les pêchant en toute sécurité avec des filets. Un tour peut se prolonger de 2 à 3 heures, mais la durée dépend en fin de compte de la durée de votre séjour. Tous les âges sont les bienvenus.

We will mail you the supplies for your microgreen kit so that you can have a hands on component to our virtual session.
All you will have to supply is a cup and some water! We suggest trying to find a container to reuse to add another layer of sustainability to this project.
We will explore planting our microgreens, how to eat them, and then dive into sustainable farming and why all of us should strive to support it.

The Mobile Laboratory is an extension of the Homarus Eco-Centre, which allows us to visit you directly in the classroom. The presentations are realized with the help of living marine organisms to offer educational and interactive activities that fall into the school science curriculum. One hour sessions will inspire science awakening and education through observation, manipulation and interaction with an expert in the field.

Géoparc Stonehammer
This two-hour field trip will allow students to enjoy time in the great outdoors while exploring the geology, nature and history of Tucker Park in Saint John, N.B. Students will have the opportunity to examine geological samples up close and witness the impact of glaciers on the landscape. Nearby Brothers Islands (the only reserve land in southern NB) also provides and interesting backdrop to discuss Indigenous cultures and traditional land use.

Stonehammer UNESCO Global Geopark in class and field trip programs and workshops focus on the rock cycle and minerals "the building blocks of rock" which is curriculum-based hands-on learning. Students learn about the 3 rocks types and earth processes in a 1.5 hour hands-on workshop or a field trip near their school at one of our Geosites. Also highlighted is What is a UNESCO Global? And why Southern New Brunswick was designated as the First UNESCO Geopark in North America!
