Purpose: Kopit Lodge speaks for protection of The Forest and The Water in our region, on behalf of Future Generations of All Our Relations, and based on the Covenant Chain of responsibilities spelled out in the Peace and Friendship Treaties.
Activities: Kopit Lodge is comprised of Mi'kmaq and allies who support our purpose of environmental protection. To that end, we do a lot of cross-cultural networking and mutual support work. Kopit Lodge also houses the Iapjiw Maliaptasiktɨtiew Wskwitqamu* (IMW) Consultation Delegation, which is a group of grassroots community volunteers mandated by EFN Chief and Council to represent Elsipogtog community in consultations regarding all resource development, extraction and related matters that will or may impact our Aboriginal and/or Treaty Rights. * IMW means "protecting the earth for future generations"
