Purpose: To reduce UNBSJ's ecological footprint; To increase UNBSJ's energy effeciency; To generate public awareness of environmental problems and the solutions to them; To facilitate student engagement in environmental initiatives; To support sustainable and accessible education for all.
Activities: We coordinate or run the following things at UNBSJ: UNBSJ’s recycling program for beverage containers; Tucker Park walking trails; UNBSJ Community Garden; UNBSJ’s energy- and waste-saving retrofits; Community cleanups; Environmental awareness campaigns; Outreach activities with local school groups; Freecycle store; Guest speakers; Movie / documentary film screenings; Outdoor recreation; Program enrichment / extension for Biology/environmental science students
