Ce guide fournit une introduction à certains aspects de la qualité de l’eau, qui sont parmi les plus importants et les plus couramment surveillés. Les illustrations en couleur et les descriptions non techniques de ce guide rendent l’apprentissage de la qualité de l’eau facile et agréable pour tous – sur le terrain ou en classe ! Outre les connaissances locales, géographiques et traditionnelles ou autochtones, ces informations peuvent aider à prendre des décisions et à agir pour protéger nos eaux, afin qu’elles restent saines pour les générations à venir.

This guidebook provides an introduction to some of the most important and commonly monitored aspects of water quality. Colour illustrations and non-technical descriptions in this guide make learning about water quality easy and enjoyable for everyone – in the field or in the classroom! Alongside local, place-based, and Traditional/Indigenous knowledge, this information can support decision-making and action to help protect our waters, so they remain healthy for generations to come.

During this outdoor field trip, students will visit the Marysville Flats located in Marysville, New Brunswick, to learn about watersheds and thier inhabitants. Students will learn about what watersheds are and how they work through games, story telling and exploration of the Marysville flats restoration site. Topics touched on will be flooding, erosion, plant adaptations and ecosystem services.

During this school or classroom visit, students will be learning all about watersheds, what they are, how they function and who lives there. If the school property has the resource, we will visit a neighboring body of water or forested area to explore and connect with the flora and fauna who live there. Priority will be give to schools located within the Nashwaak watershed.

Stonehammer UNESCO Global Geopark in class and field trip programs and workshops focus on the rock cycle and minerals "the building blocks of rock" which is curriculum-based hands-on learning. Students learn about the 3 rocks types and earth processes in a 1.5 hour hands-on workshop or a field trip near their school at one of our Geosites. Also highlighted is What is a UNESCO Global? And why Southern New Brunswick was designated as the First UNESCO Geopark in North America!

Le programme ÉcoÉcoles est à la fois un cadre et une mine de ressources pour l’action et l’engagement en éducation à l’environnement. Le programme offre aux élèves des occasions d’affirmer leur leadership, des liens avec des camarades d’autres niveaux par le mentorat entre pairs, ainsi qu’un moyen amusant d’apprendre les principes de la durabilité. Pour les membres de l’enseignement, le programme ÉcoÉcoles s’intègre en toute transparence avec les programmes d’études de partout au Canada et offre des occasions d’apprentissage uniques.

The EcoSchools program is both a framework and a toolbox for taking action and engaging in environmental education. For students, the program provides opportunities for leadership, connection with classmates in different grade levels via peer-to-peer mentorship, and a way to learn about sustainability while having fun. For teachers, the EcoSchools program integrates seamlessly with curricula across Canada and offers unique opportunities for learning.
