EOS can offer presentations, workshops, webinars and hands-on experiences related to climate change. We can tailor things to meet your needs and have a variety of educational resources related to climate change adaptation, energy efficiency and renewable energy.
At The Gaia Project, we use a unique approach to empower youth, K-12, to take action. We incorporate inquiry-based education, curriculum links, and local action in each of our projects.
This is a teacher's workshop to learn how to teach the basics about rock identification. Provided with the workshop are classroom-ready teaching resources including, a comprehensive Pebble Guide (based on the Science 4 Properties and Uses of Earth Materials curriculum); a field journal; and a pencil case filled with a magnifier, ruler, pencil, eraser and sharpener. The teachers will be guided through a rock identification exercise using pebbles that are representative of some of the common rock names of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rock types.
