Purpose: Promote the protection and sustainable use of the environment through education and raising awareness. Measure the health status of the river, undertake research on the state of resources, water classification in the targetted watersheds, distribute the information gathered and act as a liaison between the community and government services.
Fredericton, NB
Purpose: The St. John River Society exists for the appreciation and wise use of the natural and cultural resources of the St. John River watershed.
Key program areas for the Society are access, recognition, education and sustainable management of the watershed.
Shippagan, NB
Purpose: Supporting communities to help them cope with climate change.
Cap-Pelé, NB
Purpose: Raise awareness of the population, public decision-makers, and private sector stakeholders about the importance of a healthy management of the water resources and about the concept of the integrated management of the watershed, by fostering multisectoral concertation among various players and users of water.
Village of Gagetown, NB
Purpose: Within the rural communities of the Lower Wolastoq/St. John River Basin, Voices' mission is to gather and share information regarding environmental issues and solutions, create public awareness, collaborate with communities to identify key local environmental issues, and inspire community action.
